Airbus in Australia Pacific new headquarters commissioned
Canberra, 16 July, 2014: Leading local defence manufacturer Australian Aerospace Limited has been rebranded as Airbus in Australia Pacific, marking the occasion with the formal opening of a new headquarters complex in Canberra.
The new offices were officially opened this morning by the Minister for Defence, Senator the Hon. David Johnston.
Following the lead taken early this year when the EADS Group was rebranded as “Airbus” and Eurocopter as “Airbus Helicopters”, effective today the new Airbus in Australia Pacific will be home to,and represent, three distinct brands:
2. Airbus Helicopters
3. Airbus Defence and Space.
Airbus in Australia Pacific will remain 100 per cent owned by Airbus Helicopters, and the changes will apply to all logos, branding, products and services throughout Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Commenting on the start of a new era for Australia’s defence and aerospace industries, the inaugural Managing Director of Airbus in Australia Pacific, Dr. Jens Goennemann, said:
“Across the world, the move to Airbus strengthens our position in the market. Airbus is a strong brand name and we now have a unified corporate name in commercial aircraft, helicopters, defence and space – that also represents the three divisions of the Airbus – trading on Airbus’ brand recognition of quality, innovation and reliability.
“Airbus in Australia Pacific seeks to grow the business within the region where we have identified a range of opportunities to expand our portfolio of products. As the local ‘industrial footprint’ representing Airbus, Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Defence and Space in the region, we seek to further partner with the Defence Force of Australia, New Zealand and nations of the South Pacific”.
Located on Level 1, 2 Brindabella Circuit in the Brindabella Business Park, the new headquarters complex positions Airbus in Australia Pacific close to Australia’s Defence community.
